Testimonials from Teachers
"Amazing! My class loved it. They all participated. Lots of variety in the activities and opportunities to work with different class members. [The study guide contains] lots of excellent ideas. Good resources. [The workshop is] very inclusive. Variety of activities. No pressure to volunteer. Made to feel welcome and appreciated in all activities. Suggestions for improvement? I have none! It was really well organized; good flow from one activity to the next!"
- Ms Jaramillo, grade 6/7 teacher, Sts. Cosmas and Damian School
"Thanks so much for your follow up on your excellent workshop. It was evident that our students thoroughly enjoyed it by all of their positive comments made during the passing around of the feather. The workshop was paced well & all students were involved in community building, teamwork & problem solving. This was an opportunity for many Ontario arts curriculum requirements to be met. The workshop was a great success due to your warmth and expertise."

"[The facilitators] were well-organized, kind, fun, and gave clear instructions. I am able to take many of these ideas and incorporate them into other subject areas. I liked the way that each lesson was broken down into simple steps so that each child was able to follow instructions and create wonderful movements. You included a variety of easy and wonderful ideas. You don't need to set up equipment or props. Every child has a chance to express himself/herself. I like that you integrate the 'Peace' aspect in your work.
Strengths:
1. Students were encouraged to work cooperatively throughout the program
2. [The facilitators] created an environment that allowed students to take risks
3. Every child was able to follow the instructions and participated in all the lessons
4. Fun and healthy at the same time
I wish we had more time!!!! Thank-you!!"
- Mrs. Varone-Torchia, grade 4 teacher, Sts. Cosmas and Damian School
"A wonderful way to boost self-esteem; a wonderful way to build teamwork. Even brings out shy kids - the actor in them...
...Our students enjoyed participating in activities which included warm-ups, role-playing, games, and improvisations. Apart from the fun, students learned several dramatic techniques. Both the workshop and the follow-up kit for teachers proved to be a very effective and valuable complement to the drama component in our arts program. [We are] looking forward to inviting TheatrePeace to conduct workshops for all of our students this year."
- Nina Orlando, grade 8 teacher, St. Charles School
"My daughter enjoyed the portrait drawing workshop so much that she wants me to get her drawing lessons now!"
- Parent, St. Charles School
"Christina was empathetic to the needs of each individual and gained the respect of each student. She created a positive learning environment that ultimately impacted on the students' self image. Christina's work with the students is commendable when considering the challenging characteristics presented by each pupil."

"The activities were well suited to the age group. The activities were fast paced and varied. The children certainly enjoyed the activities and I believe they learned a lot about themselves. The study guide is very well organized and has lots of ideas that can be used in the classroom. I like how the activities are explained as to what skills are being developed. Strengths? The varied activities. There seemed to be something for every child. Each child had an opportunity to participate. They also had the freedom to pull back if they didn't want to participate in a particular activity. This is an excellent workshop for the students. I can't think of anything that I would add. (Except that the time was too short!!)"
- Ms Fontaine, grade 4/5 teacher, Sts. Cosmas and Damian School
