Alexandra Breede Executive Director
Alexandra is a founding member of TheatrePeace and has held the position of Ensemble Director for the last two years. Prior to that Alexandra was a workshop facilitator and member of the performance ensemble.
Alexandra received a BA from York University in theatre studies and a post-graduate certificate from Humber College Institute for Advanced Learning in public relations.
Alexandra has been involved in theatre throughout Ontario for over ten years. She co-founded a summer repertory company in her hometown of Goderich, Ontario in 2003 and has performed in a number of productions in the greater Toronto area. Alexandra has recently launched her own public relations agency – VITUS Productions, which specializes in theatre promotion. Since graduating from Humber in April, Alexandra has worked for Live Nation, the worlds largest performing arts promotional company. |

Katie Alguire Facilitator Katie brings a wide range of experience with children of all ages, in Ontario and British Columbia, to her work as a Storytelling program leader. She currently studies in the Theatre Department at York University. |

Briana Brown Performer, Facilitator, Playwright Briana specializes in playwriting and directing. She has produced and performed in a number of her own works including More Than Breath (2002 Paprika Festival), The Star (2006 Spring Arts Fair, Tarragon Theatre), and her one-woman show Cassandra will be touring fringe festivals across the country this summer. She is an Associate Member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada, and recipient of the George Ryga Award for playwriting. Briana has completed an Honours BA in Theatre at York University. |

Guy Doucette Performer, Facilitator Guy Doucette is a graduate of the York University Theatre Studies and Creative Ensemble Program. His recent credits include performing in and collectively creating KD and the BOMB, 2005, (Back Burner Productions) Passes, 2005 & I.F 2006 (Joseph Green Studio Theatre) Let's Talk About Beds, 2007 (Back Burner Productions) & assistant directing for Julius Caesar 2006 (Word Smyth Theatre). Guy has worked as a guest director and led bi-weekly movement and voice workshops with Upper Canada College's Summer Drama Camp. In the past, Guy lovingly worked as a councellor (1998 -2000) and camp cook (2001 - 2002) for Camp Northern Lights. |

Rick Jongegan Performer, Facilitator Rick grew up in Goderich, Ontario, and is patiently completing his 3rd year at George Brown Theatre School. He is looking forward to finishing this section of his training and eagerly awaits the real world. Some of his recent acting credits include: Prince Bolkonsky in War and Peace, as well as Leontes in The Winter's Tale. He worked as a camp counselor for 2 years, where he taught drama and worked with a wide age range of children, as well as those with special needs. |

Naomi Krajden Volunteer
A native of British Columbia, Naomi is currently a theatre student at York University specializing in performance. She has been actively involved with TheatrePeace since 2006, in both drama and dance programs.

Mladen Obradovic Facilitator Mladen is a graduate from York University's MFA program in acting. He
came to Canada from Montenegro in 2005 and lives in Toronto now with his wife and son. He has been keeping his performing and teaching careers equally important in his life. His acting credits include Andrei in Chekhov's Three Sisters and Conspiracy Theorist in Draft89's production, FOE. He is a co-founder of Little Dreams Theatre Company. He has been working as a Course Director and Studio Instructor for various drama schools and programs, with a wide age range of children, since 2003. |

Nina Soyfer Facilitator Nina is a graduate student at York University. Her specializations include Classical Piano Performance, Pedagogy and Music Theory. She performs with the African Dance Ensemble (ADE), Counterpoint Chorale choir, and the 15-16th Century Renaissance Vocal Ensemble. In 2003 she won an international competition "Israel in Dance and Colour," and went through specialized master classes in painting and graphics. Nina has a large paintings collection, and has arranged several personal exhibitions in Ukraine, Israel, and Canada. Nina has professional experience in choreography of various dance styles (Funk, African, ancient, traditional, and contemporary Israeli, Latin American, Russian, Ukrainian, Hip hop, Contemporary, Eastern, Indian, and mixed styles). Nina has five years of experience in teaching dance, piano, musicology, vocal, and visual arts. In York University Nina won the Dean's Prize for Excellence - Faculty of Fine Arts. |

Christina Akrong Founding Executive Director Christina Akrong, Founder of TheatrePeace, was inspired to create the program by her work with children of Chernobyl in Ukraine, children of war in Croatia, and locally in group homes, residential treatment centres, schools, and community centres. Christina co-founded the Winters Community Art Club and held the title of Manager (and Director) of the York Youth Connection at York University(2003-2005, 2008). Christina holds an honours degree in Theatre and a Bachelor and Masters of Education. Christina held the title of Executive Director of TheatrePeace from its inception in 2002 until 2008. |
